Body jewelry are made of a variety of materialsBody jewelry is a popular and interesting way to bring a sense of individualism, uniqueness and fashion to your look. Far from being limited to the likes of necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, chokers and chains, there is a massive selection of body jewelry now available on the market as manufacturers and designers are finding more and more ways of expressing individual style through bodily embellishments and decoration. Currently a lot more body parts are subject to bedazzlement like ankles, navels, toes, thumbs, lips, eyelashes and even hair! Even more traditional pieces have been adapted and changed to create more interesting looks.

Adapting Traditional Pieces

Rings and necklaces in particular have spawned a new generation of pieces like multi-layer rings, huge statement necklaces and knuckle dusters. These pieces have infused metals, gemstones and fabricated plastics and glass to create unique and modern items that produce a new spin on conventional looks. Putting together several pieces linked by a thin chain is another style trend that has become more popular and takes on the form of earrings, hair pieces and even belly and ankle chains.

New Transitions

Decorating skin with tiny miniature crystals and pieces made of plastic and glass in the vein of a tattoo design is also becoming a trend. It is not uncommon to find readymade stick-on tattoos in various designs like roses, unicorns, stars and rainbows in a selection of colours and sizes made entirely of little beads that temporarily create a flashy and cool 3D-like tattoo effect on the skin. These can be worn anywhere such as the shoulder, upper arm, stomach, lower back, ankle or even the back of the neck and are a great way to dress up for festivals and summer parties where more skin is exposed.

Bodily decorations and modern takes on traditional jewelry items are a great way to add to a look as they create an outlet for individual expression and fashion sense s why not experiment over the summer months and find a look that suits you?
